And ... it's another snoozer

The rendering depicts a domed spire that will rise over the temple entrance, honoring the Spanish colonial architecture found throughout historic Old San Juan including the iconic defensive castle known as Castillo San Felipe del Morro or simply "El Morro."

To be completed around '21

There is dire need for electricity in Puerto Rico, and the Mormon church is building a temple. Isn't that special?

Yet another building with a lot of fake cornices.

A micro temple and still a big waste of space on an island with little to spare.

...early on, the local members provided Church architects with renditions resembling traditional Spanish style missions, but were voted down by SL. They were told "It looks too traditional, too Spanish."

A design like that would have been really lovely! What a wonderful bell tower. For some reason, the proposed San Juan temple looks out of proportion to me (as do many of the newer temples.) The spire looks too tall and heavy in proportion to the rest of the building.

That's because it is meant to look phallic. What balls they have.

That would have been orgazmo-ic!

But I know what you mean about proportions. I can spot a LDS church from the awkwardness of the building.

In other words, too Catholic.

That design is much better (and more in proportion, IMO.)

Nice looking building actually but they ruined it by sticking one of those dumb Moroni statues on it.

Oh well. Good enough to wear togas and leafy green aprons inside.

Sans Moroni, it looks like a nice neo-colonial building.

The TJ temple looks more "normal" from a distance, but closer up, it is giantized. They are all oversized. Mormons are building houses this way, now. The front doors are 20 feet tall, with an even taller entryway arch. I call them "houses for giant egos."

Phallic is right!

Whenever people talk about repurposing temples, I just think, "Tear them down!" Restore the beautiful views that the Mormons have destroyed.

Where's the Moroni?

...once again, he let his AFM Musicians Union card lapse.

..."Enough is enough," said an AFM spokesperson. "The idea that we can continually give Mr. Moroni status is unprecedented and unfair; not only to the thousand of dues-paying members, but musicians world-wide. His trumpet playing abilities not withstanding."

And the temples are now the main ride/theme park feature.

And just like the structures used in other theme parks, they're just cheap facades. At least the old ones looked solid. The new ones LOOK as cheaply built as the spray foam structures used in theme parks.

Wait. Where's the guy in the golden dress blowing his vuvuzela?
