It's going to be a very good year.

"Chinese New Year officially begins on February 5th, 2019, and ends on February 19th....

How to Say Happy New Year in Chinese

Xīn

nián

kuài

lè!"

On the news tonight it was said though this is the year of the pig ... watch out because next year is the year of the rat. In politics that should be a turbulent year for say, impeachment proceedings based on historical precedent.

I grew up in the Gung Hay Fat Choy! era (a New Year's wish which is now considered extremely culturally insensitive--a reminder of former, unhappily colonial, Chinese history).

So, in the spirit of the Year of the Pig:

Xin Nian Kuai Lai, everyone!

Oh, I see. Interesting juxtaposition on words between cultures.

That's just crazy talk. ;)

Of course they're accurate! How else do you explain all the wonderful things they say about Rats?

But how could we have Easter without the pre-Christian lunar calendar?

It's supposed to be a good year us Rats as we prepare for the upcoming Year of the Rat.

Amyjo,

I am just super-impressed that you could post Chinese language here on a text-based board.

Woo-hoo!

My Chinese fortune cookie for today says, "In the midst of a busy life, take some time to be a kid again." (Never lose your childish innocence.)
