On the news tonight it was said though this is the year of the pig ... watch out because next year is the year of the rat. In politics that should be a turbulent year for say, impeachment proceedings based on historical precedent.

I grew up in the Gung Hay Fat Choy! era (a New Year's wish which is now considered extremely culturally insensitive--a reminder of former, unhappily colonial, Chinese history).

So, in the spirit of the Year of the Pig:
