Oak and his, "Right is still right, wrong is still wrong," preaching. Sure would be nice if he preached something he understood and followed. He wouldn't recognize right from wrong if it hit him on the head; he says lying for the Lord is okeydokee, demands members realize the remedy for research, should that evil Devil tempt them, is always prayer and obedience, etc. etc. etc.

Does LDS Inc. never cease with their endless nitpicking and criticizing? Must the "authorities" dictate to members how to cut their hair, dress, how much time they can spend on the internet, etc.? Can members EVER do enough? No wonder Mormons are so depressed.

Does LDS Inc. EVER focus on the positive? They find a million little things to criticize - things that Jesus wouldn't give a sh_t about, and rarely say anything complimentary.

When I was a TBM teenager I felt so unworthy, even though I attended 6:30 AM seminary M-F during the school year, spent Sundays in all-day meetings, did't party with my friends, stayed out of trouble, etc. I was a "good" kid but still felt like an evil sinner. There was an endless list of nonsense to dos, like reading scriptures every night, saying a prayer for every occasion, magnifying stupid callings, pressure to share "the gospel" with my friends (every member a missionary), being an example, avoiding the appearance of evil (whatever that means), and on and on and on...

Does the Mormon church exercise control by making members feel like they can never do enough, or even worse, feel like they are spiritual superstars because they manage to accomplish all silly Mormon tasks and feel like they are very good and superior, even though the endless silly tasks don't build character or make the person a kinder more caring and thoughtful human being?

Yep, people showed up just to be chastised by an old man selling the same message as his predecessors. He should throw his staff down and have it turn into a snake... some profit stuff.

Well dang! I was hoping for some good old fashioned "Thus saith the Lord" prophesy.

It's us vs. them thinking. If you are outside of the Morridor, Mormons blend in just fine with the rest of the population. They don't look or act substantially different. If Rusty wants Mormons to stand out, perhaps he should mandate the sort of garb that is worn by the ultra-Orthodox Jews. Now them, you can pick out of a crowd! Or maybe the Muslim burqa? That's modest! I think Rusty is lacking in imagination in this regard.

I have it on good authority that the original draft of Oak's talk
contained the following lines which were excised from the talk at
the last minute:
