their brand of manipulation (Hitler, Idi Amin, Franco, Pol Pot, Papa & Baby Doc, etc.) was assuredly on a different path than that of the GAs, but indoctrination was certainly a necessary element, just like in Mormonism...

They certainly see themselves as involved in a war, and in fact the most important war the planet has ever seen. They see life as a cosmic battleground in which the forces of evil are constantly fighting against God, and they have to lead the armies of God to win the war. This mind set explains so much of Mormonism, and allows them to say and do just about whatever they feel it takes to defeat Satan. In times past t4he secular leaders of nations felt the same way about Communism vs "freedom", and that is how they justified the brutality they exerte4d on their own people. As long as the war metaphor has legs, Mormon leader will not change their patterns.
