Netflix “Abducted...” Question

I might be tardy to the party, but I just watched “Abducted in Plain Sight” on Netflix and was curious if anyone here knows what the father and Berchtold’s church callings were at the time of the kidnappings? It seems to me it might help explain how and why the parents were so willing and trusting. Was Berchtold in the bishopric? Or the EQP? I’d be interested in finding out. Anyone know?

I don't think Berchtold had time for a calling. He was very busy bothering the people.
