WHO are the statues behind the Christus representing in the Rome temple? The original apostles? or other prominent figures in the history of Catholicism. I guess it really does not matter so much since its all rather meaningless mythology, or contrived religious non sense, but I was (superficially) curious on the matter, and have yet to see an official commentary on the matter. NO doubt that LD$ inc put a lot of money into that project as they attempt to horn in on THE (Catholic) church's territory doctrine wise and literally.

Are there 12? If so is the 12th Judas, Mathies or Paul?

Mathias replaced Judas.

Paul was more like Jesus'publicist.

Yes, but the Mormons use Paul.

Is it true that Joseph Smith wanted to follow Paul's advice regarding leaders of the restored church spurning sex and marriage?

But then along came this angel ...

So I hope by now JS and Paul have settled their differences, up there in permanent General Conference of Paradise.

Paul & Christ gave 'too much' anti-divorce for modern ChurchCo, it's the one item they bury & disregard the most;

Family Values, ha!

But for over a century they followed Paul's admonition of women not allowed to pray in public ie sacrament meeting or conference.

It's okay to be ignorant, but one shouldn't revel in one's ignorance.

First there's another knock off of Bertel Thorvaldsen Christus. While it can be difficult to tell from photos, it looks too large for the space.

Then there are the 12 original disciples (apostle does not appear in the Greek NT). They seem too small and cramped.

The effort appears to me to be an poor attempt to duplicate the Berini colonnade in St. Peter's plaza at the Vatican. I mean, all the disciples are not particularly associated with Rome except through Roman Catholicism so why here, why now.

If I may add, the Christus on Temple Square is not based directly on the Thorvaldsen statute but the one at Forest Lawn Cemetery in southern California to my understanding. In other words, it is a knock off of a knock off.
