It's all part of the plan! Take your vitamins and get plenty of sleep, cuz things are going to be ramping up!

Yay, ghawd!

Go, you Big Cougar in the Sky!

Ha! Ha! Well the Nauvoo and Tonga temples burned pretty nicely. Flammable materials burn. Simple as that.

C'est La Vie, no?
Life goes on.
I love Notre Dame and have visited numerous times, but, its not just a building, how could God stand by and just watch it burn?
It's the classic problem of evil, right?
If God is good, and has the power to stop evil, then why is there evil?
Either
A. God is not always good.
B. God is not all powerful
C. God is not all knowing.

Or

D. God (Mother Nature) doesn't care about you any more than a worm and wants to kill you and turn you into worm shit, where you will benefit the most forms of life.
And God, Mother Nature, is good.
And God, Mother Nature is genius.

Might I recommend to you a thought experiment in English Prime as a practice to improve thinking and communication?

When the conclusion you wish to preach needs nothing but native ability, why would anyone tamper with what they currently possess?

Devil wouldn’t burn down his own church would he? Or she? I don’t know what the devil is anymore.

Buildings are buildings, not eternal. Though that Cathedral was amazing and iconic of Paris -- second maybe to the Eiffel Tower -- the rose windows and flying buttresses are classic gothic elements -- it has stood since the 1300s. Construction began in the 1100s - hard to imagine something taking 200 years to complete, but that was the dedication and resolve of the builders.

Compare that the to Oklahoma City LDS Inc Temple... Built in a few years, torn down after about 16-17 years, and rebuilt in another couple years.

Are they evacuating the nearby buildings? I’d be afraid of nearby buildings catching

It has the river Siene on one side and has some garden/park grounds around it --not too dense compared to many other building in the city.

This is an interesting time really. The cathedral has been falling apart for decades and now that the roof and spire are collapsed I wonder if they will be immediately repaired or left to sit abandoned.

Even though I get the sense that most French are probably not that religious, there is still a matter of national pride in structures like Notre Dame. Anyone from any belief or non-belief can still appreciate the beauty of this building. I wonder if people from all over will unite to rebuild this amazing structure just so we can still hang on to this glorious cathedral? Not for religion's sake but for art and culture's sake.

Like it or not, this cathedral represents a turning point in art history where creating images of holy people and things was no longer considered a sin, thus it opened up the way for artists to sculpt figures again. This was the Gothic period that lead to the early renaissance.

My atheism does not prevent me from feeling a sense of deep loss seeing this structure burn. Rather I feel that a big part of our human story is being lost too. I want to help rebuild it.

This is easy, god isn't concerned with the preservation of things. Rather, god wants to preserve our souls.

The building needed a lot of work, of the price tag of 180 million dollars. Now I'm sure it will be even more than that! It's a tragedy.

Obviously, God let it burn to make room for a Mormon temple.

God cares more about the Mormon Temple in Paris, then, than the one in Rome!

For the same reason that He/Her/It let 25,000+ innocent little children die horrific deaths TODAY around the world while you and I went about our busy day.

He's an "Absentee Landlord"...and has been for the whole of Human History and prior to that.

Or so it seems to me...

Or, are we behind in our rent and he wants us evicted?

"While you and I went about our busy day." Perhaps that is the answer.
