I think the fast pace of Nelson is his personal endeavor to trump the many church "milestones and accomplishments" of the Hinkster. I think that is the underlying motive for Rusty and his magic pen. Realistically, GBH had a solid 18 years of being top dog and setting the pace. He was in the first presidency for a total of 27 years. Nelson is a little over a year into office and his age is against him. The remodeling of temple square will be part of his legacy.

Did Monson have much of a church legacy?

And he led the church to a much greater understanding of the role of cold caffeinated drinks as they pertain to the WOW and the vending machine inventory of church college campuses.

I think you are right. The church has a history of getting itself into financial trouble building expensive buildings. It got in trouble with the Kirkland temple. It got in trouble with the Salt Lake temple to the point of where is had to sell junk bonds to keep the church going and then it went to cash tithing to pay the bond debt off.

In the late 50’s the church was in trouble again due to building too many expensive buildings.

Now supposedly the church only builds when it has the cash to build. It finances nothing. Who knows. It’s a private corporation and we can’t see the books. One thing for sure once Hinkley became prophet they really started throwing money around. It’s still continuing. If Russ wants to outdo Hinkley he’s going to have to spend a lot of dough.

So do you mean to imply that these men are led by their ego and not by the spirit? (sarcasm alert)

These guys are like the opposite of Joseph, financially (at first anyway), mortally, and physiological, and philosophically, yet they want to top him, and worship him, and use the saints to their advantage...

Rust he is old and had to start out of the gate with a gate, to be great, he figured, but it is too late.

He will always be small
Compared to the mall

Money is GIVEN to him.
He TAKES it and spends it-
According to his perspiration.

"The WORK": He
Has others do it
Says he did it
Makes him happy
And very nappy

The 'church' is his silver spoon!
It is in his mouth. He is bored.

IMO, Nelson will be known as "The Great Eraser". Just like Seti I, Nelson has commanded the name, "Mormon" to be stricken from all books, pylons, buildings, writings, etc. Soon afterwards,it backfired on them and their empire was never the same. He doesn't have to compete with GBH; in fact, he shall henceforth be known as Seti II.

I like that. Unless of course his vitamins and rest are going to light up his pen for some more fun in Mormonism.
