In a rare action, a spokesman for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints denounced a news story reported by Vice News, saying Friday that the media outlet irresponsibly mischaracterized the faith's response to sexual abuse.

I saw this yesterday on Youtube. It's really chilling and disturbing. What they mentioned is that mormondom brings in 10 billion a year in tithing and they could care less about victims. 30-40 million dollar payoffs are common. And the Kirkon and McKonkie building is used just for this purpose. To deal with perverts, the courts, and paying off the victims. And the mormon bretheren could care less...

There really needs to be disclosure to the members about where there tithing is really going. I know I for one wouldn't want to be tithing money just so they can give it away in legal fees and bribes for sex deviants?

10 billion dollars a year in tithing translates into 100 billion dollars in income. Divide that by 5,333,000 TBM members and it means an income of $187,000 each. (Someone check my math!!)

Anyway, the tithing figure is way too high. But the premise is sound, given mormon hubris.
