I always hated that phrase. Sure, sometimes you need to tough things out, but only if there is something worthwhile at the end.

The word "endure" makes it sound as if you shouldn't expect a moment's joy.

They definitely managed to implant the message that anything fun must be bad.

"Endure" seems like a poor way to describe a life in a religion that claims to make everyone so happy.

... for a battery?!?!?

So the church could open a power cell division under the Deseret Management Corporation.

The commercial might feature a battery-powered, toy handcart company slogging its way to "back to Missouri," climbing over hills of dead Energizer Bunnies.
