I don't understand why the price spread is so great except in a couple of the trains. I assume they are only filming the extremely high cost areas, what do you get for the low-end ticket?
I imagine the low-end would be well-within the reach of many except of course you have to factor in the flight to get to where the train is (and back) and any rental car or hotel while you are waiting to catch the train.
What I liked about being on a train is how quiet is in inside compared to how noisy it is outside when a train goes by. Inside you are a long way from the engine or the whistle and glide by silently while all the traffic is stopped at the crossing for you, which I thought was amusing to watch. Outside of course if you are at said crossing, it is very noisy and windy as it goes by!
