I wasn't going to resign... always had this fantasy of being excommunicated! From reading the post I failed to realize that by not taking this simple step I was leaving myself open (regardless how slight)to the powers of the MORmON church. Now I have completely removed the power for them to discipline me. Now I am completely free... If you haven't done it yet ... Takes only a minute!

Congratulations shylock, I did the same many years ago but under duress by the bishop. He told me that if I didn't resign I would be excommunicated. My sin was telling the other members about bits of church history they didn't want to own. I had already received two warnings.

They can't do a thing to you now or in the future. Well done.

Congratulations, shylock! Me and my immediate family all resigned at the same time; our oldest daughter and her husband are still convinced TSCC is true. Resigning was the best decision for us.

I was glad when I resigned. It was in 2005, and was one of the best decisions of my life next to stopping smoking.
