Everything in Mormonism says to if not try to hide your child's sexual orientation at least not overtly promote it and form a group to support this.

Kudos to them. It would be wonderful of the COB excommunicated them all. Their struggle is indicative of how bad Mormonism is. Creating a support group shows this. But that probably won't happen?

Because outside the USA, many people pick up on these things. The strength of Americans is often their self-confidence and one of their weaknesses is often an inability to get this type of humor... Larry David does it to some extent, so there are exceptions.

Well, it was either sexist or a joke. I'd give him the benefit of my doubts. It does sound like something a wise "trickster" of Eastern Philosophy would say but his position is quite a bit above that because of his Noble Prize in my opinion.
