Last week when speaking with my Mom, I recounted the Mormon memory of rushing off and driving crazy to a Stake Priesthood meeting with my Dad (usually on a Thursday evening) and she told me. Oh, they haven't held one of those in years. Really?

So how long has it been (or my Mom is mixed up) since said meetings have been kaput?

I have been out for about 20 years now.

Same here...would go to Stake and Gen Penishood meetings about 3-4x per year. When I left 12 years ago, we were having 5am stake penishood meetings 1x per quarter. Would you believe it was a packed house? It was. Crazy is as crazy MO FO Mormons are.

Too Much of a 'good thing' for the morg to promote?

OTOH, would ChurchCo pass up an opportunity for indoctrination?
that doesn't seem likely either, No Matter how inconvenient attendance (time/travel & family or work time forfeited - lost)

Nor me. I think I may have gone to one or two, but that's it. We never had them at 5 in the morning thank God.
