I saw her in person today. She is absolutely beautiful. My pupils had those little hearts in them. I could have touched her if there had not been a fence between us.

There is something a bit phallic about a big black train.

Indeed. A pretty little locomotive. She blew out a cylinder in April though. Haven't seen an update on repairs. How is she looking?

his son worked in Silverton. He spent his vacations in the summer with his son and family in Silverton. I drove through there once at midnight. Would have loved to see the place.

He always talked about the train. I'm too old to remember what he said some 40 years ago.

If that million dollar highway didn't have so many corkscrew turns, then I might drive through Durango. I passed through a few years ago and saw the coal burning steamers. The road to Ouray gave me nightmares. A lot of steep cliffs with no guard rails.

Last month, I drove along the parts of the former route of the Carson & Colorado Ry through Mina and Hawthorne Nevada. Very desolate part of the country.

Oddly enough, the Slim Princess ran on the Carson & Colorado Ry.
before the Carson & Colorado Ry. was bought by the Southern Pacific Railroad and then it became a Southern Pacific locomotive.

Sent to pops, he was a kid from the time there were no diesel electrics.
His pop was a locomotive engineer so he'd spend summer days at the yard.

We as a society must stop the fat-shaming of trains.

Could you love a train called the Morbidly Obese Princess?

When I worked at Univac the computers were all males. I don't know why this is.
