I was sick with a bad stomach infection seven months ago which put me off my game and resulted in a nasty fall which broke a hip and a finger.

All of that is finally behind me. DH and I opened our best bottle of wine to celebrate last night.

Please keep your dishwasher door closed to avoid this common accident.

And also, please remember to be supportive of those who are ill and injured. Kindness helps healing.

If I could post the party hat emoji I would. Celebrate safely and congrats. You have worked hard and behaved doing what you were told.

GREAT NEWS!!!!!

Wow, already?

Hip fractures and replacements can be serious life altering issues. You must have done well in PT. I'm so glad.

Thanks for alerting us to a danger in the kitchen I would not have thought about.

I didn't know they'd wear out when I got my donated corneas. The doctor said they have aged to be equal to about 60 years and some corneas do fine at that point while others might not. He thinks mine are fine for now.

Yesterday, I asked the orthopedic surgeon how long fake hips last which is about 20 years, more or less. I said I'll hop for forever.

My endocrinologist has had three hip replacements and will likely need a fourth. For some reason the balls wear down for him and cause pain as they age. One replacement is enough for me.

Dishwasher injuries are the worst !

Which is why I refuse to go near a dishwasher. That's what I tell my wife anyway, "sorry too dangerous...you do it."

I'll still take my chances with the dish washer.

I have a manual dishwasher. It works fairly good when it doesn't break down.

trip over it. I can run into the door with my legs, but there is nowhere to fall except onto the door.

I fall all the time. I've only broken my feet 3 times. Luckily! I'm a real klutz.

I'm happy to hear you have recovered! You really have had so much to deal with health-wise. I wish for you good health!

YAY! Now you can get back to the things you love. I am the only one that touches the dishwasher and I can never forget to close it. It covers the dogs dishes and they don't let me forget :P. Bossy damn dogs!

It's inappropriate and heartless to flame those who are painfully down and out. Thanks to those who understand this and to those who don't? They're probably a lost cause.

I'm unsure as to whom or to which post this refers. If it alludes to my post, I apologize.I had no intent to flame either a person in pain or anyone else. My meaning was that upbeat patients make every surgeon's job a pleasure. If my clumsiness with language caused what I wrote to imply anything else, I'm sorry.

If the message had nothing to do with me, please disregard.
