I have a question. To begin with, I presume, the top 10 favorite don’ts of Christians are as follows:
1. I am the Lord thy God and thou shalt not have any other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make any graven images for thee.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.
5. Honor thy father and mother.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
10. Thou shalt not covet.

Now homosexuality doesn’t even make your top 10 list, but there is this reference by Paul in Romans 1:26:

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

So, it seems God is annoyed with homosexuals. The pie makers, cake bakers, flower arrangers and county clerks are standing on their “Constitutional rights” not to serve these people. Ironically, though mentioned in the Bible, it doesn’t make God’s top 10 list of don’ts.

Though good Christians are standing in line to vote for the adulterer and fornicator in chief of the United States. I suspect Christians seem to like adultery and fornication more than homosexuality. Which seems rather ironic if not hypocritical since they would forgo one of the top 10 and focus on one of the lessor don’ts.

And I’m asked why I prefer atheists?

apparently, ChurchCo & HF are both confused at times over priorities, so they comfort each other at least in that regard...

Mormons rewrite number 7 to include any and every type of sexual sin one can think of. Masturbation, homosexuality and even porn are bundled in that commandment.

We have only the word of Paul (if it really was Paul) saying that homosexuality is a sin. Neither Jesus nor any of those who spent considerably more time with him than did Paul (who never actually met Jesus in Jesus' lifetime but claimed to have met up with him after the resurrection) made any mention of Jesus' supposed views concerning homosexuality.

Totally agree with your observation about the New Testament. Most scholars agree that the letters of Paul were written before the Gospels. The New Testament is a historical mess and only true believers would find solace in its absurdities.

However my question is why the Christians obsession with homosexuality? If two homosexuals enter into a relationship they typically don't produce children and at the end of their relationship they move on, possibly, to new partners. "No harm no foul", for society. However if a married couple has issues of adultery, from a traditional Christian view, it has the potential to be very damaging to children and to the family unit. Such issues of welfare, child custody, visitation all could crop up. So from a Christian point of view an adulterous affair would be more likely to have the effect that they fear than homosexual relationships.

So why are the baker and candlestick makers not refusing to sell their products to people that are or have been in adulterous relationships?

I actually think I know the answer. All Christians would starve to death because no one would be able to provide any type of service to that band of hypocrites.

My guess is that with at least eight out of ten having no homosexual inclination, and the other one to of ten not exactly admitting to any such inclination, they decided to demonize a sin that had little or nothing to do with the carnal desires of the majority.

As a Roman, Paul would have had a distaste for Greek culture.

What would make you say that? Roman was the ultimate cultural thief. They adopted Greek architecture, philosophy, politics, gods, festivals, etc., unless you are implying there is a connection to Greece and homosexuality? If that is the case you might want to check out Roman art more closely.

Both the left and right have them.

Tests themselves are pretty random (don't need to be in the top ten) but they all serve to generate that feels of righteous indignation (so addictive) and create an "us" vs. a "them" so we can have a good fiiiiiiight.

Everybody loves a good fight.

Why else would anyone get into such piddle as are the headlines?

One additional observation. In my original post I included a New Testament quote. As you may note it comes from a letter to the "Romans".
