I read that whoever provides warnings like this says the traffic southbound to Utah county will be really really bad so expect at least an hour's drive, which will make it close to 2 hours. That probably doesn't include time finding a place to park.
And then another hour or two to get back to Salt Lake County.
(in my searches of this subject since I know nothing sports related, here's Bro Mitt's Tweet
Tonight, @BYUfootball takes on @UtahFootball in what’s deemed the “Holy War.” Now I know I’m supposed to not pick sides, but…to heck with that!

leave at 2 or 3 p.m. and go have dinner. I hope U wins just because.
We were taking our kids to Disneyland back when they turned 8. Their birthday is November 21st and it so happened that Saturday was the byu vs U game. The traffic was bad that day. It took FOREVER to get from SLC past Provo and that was 1993. It will be bad today.
There is a fire in Bountiful and that is all the news talked about (that I saw).
We had a really bad storm here. My dogs were scared to death. It would have been interesting to go out and look at the lightening, but I was comforting the dogs.
The lead-up in the press to last night's game probably helped contribute to the less-than-one-touchdown spread.
But how could it be that the attendance was less than a sell-out!?! I didn't see exact/approximate figures, just the notation that LES did not sell out! I bet the internees at the MTC had to ignore the game, because, you know, ghawd ...
The Deseret News begged ESPN to not refer to the game as the Holy War. I watched the entire game and not only did the announcer mention Holy War at least 20 times, he also said Mormon an additional 20 times.
BYU loses a game that really means a lot to them, and while doing so, it is constantly referenced as a Holy War (leaving the implication that mormon ghawd lost!) and then one of my favorite words in the world, 'mormon', gets repeated to a nation starved for good, clean fun.
...so maybe there is a ghawd, and he's definitely not mormon?
