A right-wing evangelical leader on Sunday claimed mass shootings are caused by “driving God from the public square” and more specifically by teaching kids science such as evolution in schools.

“We’ve taught our kids that they come about by chance through primordial slime and then we’re surprised that they treat their fellow Americans like dirt,” Tony Perkins, head of the Family Research Council, said on “Fox & Friends” one day after a gunman in Texas killed 7 and wounded 21 others.

He did not, however, offer any theories as to how nations with lower levels of religious adherence manage to avoid mass shootings.

I wonder why mass shootings also happen in churches where God is not "driven out."

The creepy thing about this is what it reveals about the god he believes in. A god so petty and vengeful is just as much an example for how to act toward others: with revenge over anything.

That god is also tricky to plant so much fake evidence about evolution! God is saying, "Here is evidence, now ignore it!'

When humans figured out the sun didn't revolve around them, maybe that's why they started treating fellow humans like they are not important?

Funny how God is all about the science of making guns as deadly as possible, but any science His followers don't like is criticized.

Meanwhile a Texas State Legislator says that the answer to gun violence is to "pray for protection."
Does that mean if you are a victim of gun violence you weren't praying hard enough?

Right. Besides, if you pray, you are questioning God's plan and pleading for Him to change his mind.
