An oldie but a goodie: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VaRO5-V1uK0 Sean Stephenson explains the prison of your mind. Mormonism is just one prison. After that there are others.
IMO, truth is the key that unlocks your mind's prison and sets you free; not necessarily physically, but mentally and spiritually. The truth is the ability to see things crystal clear and it breaks the power that you mentally allow someone to hold over you, whether it's in the workplace, a cult, or someone trying to scam you with MLM's. John 8:32 says it best: "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free".
Have to agree, val. However, the truth sometimes is a little hard to come by. Escaping the prison of your mind is not being afraid to tunnel through a river of truths and lies; climbing a chain link fence barbed with facts that must be sorted.
And part of knowing the truth is knowing that you could be wrong--and understanding being mistaken is not a negative but a tool, an oar, even a balm.

Very wise words. We live in a world of words yet are very real creatures of a natural world. The statistically significant probability that we will be mostly wrong more of our time is very high in my speculations.
Speaking of truth is even more prone to error especially using our modern understanding of truths of our human past. Socrates distrusted the written word for very good reasons.
