for about fifteen months in 1974-75. I had just been rejected by medical school for the first time. The pay wasn't great, but if you had the right educational background, they would hire you right out of school with no experience. Many of the research workers were premeds on hiatus like me, plus a lot of working spouses. After getting rejected by med school for the second time, I left to go to graduate school. Shortly before that, they had started a building boom, which continues to this day. Eventually they had to tear up and reroute interstate highways to get more room to expand. Mixed memories nearly 50 years later, but overall a positive experience.
