IMO, the best way to overcome obsession with the need to be "perfect", is to understand the real meaning of the word. For a long time the world thinks of perfect as the impossible carrot dangling forever in front of you; the hamster running in his little wheel. "Perfect" actually means: "whole" or "complete". It gives it a whole new perspective to the words: "Be ye therefore perfect".
