I just watched the film “Joker”

Best film I have seen in a decade, very Kubrickesque.

Wife did not like it.

Thoughts?

I’ve heard it’s good. There’s controversy over it though, is it because of violence?

Heath Ledger committed suicide because of playing the joker, allegedly. He acted brilliantly and supposedly got into character too much. So it’s a very dark character and subject for them to be making films about. I’m kind of surprised they did it again.

I personally don’t have strong feelings over it myself, but probably wouldn’t see it if it’s really dark. What made it good for you?

He didn't commit suicide. He died because he was a dough head about prescription drugs. You don't take oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine and expect no consequences.

"Once upon a Time in Hollywood" is the movie of the year.

Batman should have been put to sleep years ago along with all the other DC/Marvel snorefests.

Pitt in a Tarantino movie has to be good.

I like Joachim Phoenix sort of. Probably plays a very dramatic Joker, if you’re into that.

Sometimes I really wish we had a vote up or down features on RfM. Huge up vote on this.

The Joker, with those beautiful green eyes. Maybe we girls at the office will go see that one.

Very tight narrative. Consistent acting and Robert D. as a victim was a nice touch.

The thing I didn't "get" that my comic obsessed friends can't explain is how it was something that needed Gotham or The Joker.

It could have been called "Sad Clown" and been just as good.

I wish they would make this into a movie.
