It's time, once again, for another desperation-move, Mormon Church-essay rollout, this one again designed to once again throw Brigham Young under the bus. In our ongoing effort here at RfM to assist LDS Central in whatever way we can in its crafting of another boot to Brigham's butt, let's provide its so-called "history"-writing committee some more ammo. However, this time (and unfortuantely for LDS Inc.'s control-the-stink Damage Control Department), there's an inconvenient complication: The Mormon Church will have to sacrifice on its altar of continuous contortion the official teachings Mormonism's inventor, Jospeh Smith (along with all the other Mormon Church presidents who followed his doctrinally-despicable lead).
We're talking about the undeniable fact of history that Mormon Church presidents have--in that highest-level capacity of authority which exists in said church--officially and unequivocably taught as Mormon Church doctrine that Jewish and Gentile blood require being changed into Mormon blood before Jews and Gentiles can be accepted by the Mormon Jesus. Yup, we're talking about an actual, physical blood change, one that is literal, not figurative; real, not imagined--a Mormon God-ordained transfusion, if you will, where the "bad" blood of non-Mormons who are baptized into the LDS Church is literally transformed into the "good" blood of Mormons who are on a White supremacist purification kick. Again, we're speaking of a physically-accomplished blood-swap that changes every bad-blooded person into a unique, genetically-superior Mormon pure-blood. In other words, into a Thoroughbred of the Gods.
This is not just some not-to-be-taken-word-for-word, supposedly-figurative doctrine of the Mormon Church. This is the bloody-bad racist doctrinal stuff of the Mormon Church at its worst--AS IT WAS TAUGHT BY JOSEPH SMITH HIMSELF (and, after that, carried down the bloodline, so to speak, by his successor, Brigham the Bigot Young, and from there on to other Mormon Churdh presidents and high LDS leaders). This is, indeed, a utterly bizarre, twisted, racist (and eventually deeply anti-Semtiic) official Mormon Church two-step doctrine which requires that:
a) the physical blood of Gentiles be changed into the physical blood of Jews; and that
b) the physical blood of Jews then be changed into the physical blood of Mormons.
You can't make this stuff up. Wait, The Mormons did.
Let's start with this "celestial" injection of Mormonism's "better blood" into the bodies of Gentiles who Mormons regard as having been cursed with "badder blood."
From the article, "Curse of Cain? Racism in the Mormon Church, Part One," under the subtitle, "Changing the Blood":
"One of the more bizarre doctrines THAT JOSEPH SMITH TAUGHT was that A GENTILE MUST LITERALLY HAVE HIS BLOOD CHANGED so that he is actually of the seed of Abraham:
"'. . . [A}s the Holy Ghost falls upon one of the LITERAL seed of Abraham, it is calm and serene; . . . while the effect of the Holy Ghost upon a GENTILE, is to PURGE OUT THE OLD BLOOD and make him ACTUALLY of the seed of Abraham." ("History of the Church," vol. 3, p. 380, emphasis added)
"Brigham Young, the second President of the LDS Church, APPROVED OF SMITH'S TEACHING:
"'Again, if a pure Gentile firmly believes the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and yields obedience to it, in such a case I will give you the words of the Prophet Joseph: 'When the Lord pours out the Holy Ghost upon that individual he will have spasms, and you would think that he was going into fits.'
"'JOSEPH SAID THAT THE GENTILE BLOOD WAS ACTUALLY CLEANSED OUT OF THEIR VEINS, AND THE BLOOD OF JACOB MADE TO CIRCULATE IN THEM; and the revolution and change in the system were so great that it caused the beholder to think they were going into fits.' ("Journal of Discourses," vol. 2, p. 269, emphasis added)
"According to this doctrine we would expect that a Jew would have the proper blood, but Brigham Young taught that EVEN A JEW MUST HAVE HIS BLOOD CHANGED:
"'If a Jew comes into this Church, and honestly professes to be a Saint, a follower of Christ, and IF THE BLODD OF JUDAH IS IN HIS VEINS, HE WILL APOSTATIZE. He may have been born and bred a Jew, . . . and have openly professed to be a Jew all his days; but I will tell you a secret: There is not a particle of the blood of Judaism in him, if he has become a true Christian, a Saint of God; for if there is, he will most assuredly leave the Church of Christ, or THAT BLOOD WILL BE PURGED OUT OF HIS VEINTS. We have men among us who were Jews, . . . [H]ere is brother Neibaur; do I believe there is ONE PARTICLEW OF THE BLOOD OF JUDAH IN HIS VEINS? NO, NOT SO MUCH AS OULD BE SEEN ON THE POINT OF THE FINEST CAMBRIC NEEDLE, THROUGH A MICROSCOPE WITH A MAGNIFYING POWER OF TWO MILLIONS." ("Journal of Discourses," vol. 2, p. 142, emphasis added)
"[Mormon resesarcher and writer] Armand Mauss observed:
"'With the passage of time, especially in recent decades, authoritative Mormon discourse has placed less emphasis on the salience of literal lineage and more emphasis on the potentially universal inclusiveness of God's ancient covenant with Abraham. As this change of emphasis continues, the logical paradox is on the way to resolution. After all, if embracing the gospel of Christ is all that really matters for full participation in the Abrahamic covenant, why should one's GENETIC lineage be given any salience whatsoever?
"'Yet, the earlier focus on the importance of LITERAL Israelite has remained influential in the thinking of many Mormons, even into the 21st century, seemingly as a residue of the RACIALIST interpretations of history once so common in America as well as in Europe.' ("All Abraham's Children," p. 3, emphasis added)
"Mauss further commented:
"'DURING THE LIFE AND MINISTRY OF JOSEPH SMITH, Mormonism shared several millennial expectations with its Protestant American environment. These included the gathering of both the Jews and the 'lost tribes'of Israel, with a special vanguard role for the tribe of Ephraim in that gathering. . . . Like many other Americans, they also identified the American Indians as descendants of the lost tribes. With the exodus to Utah in the middle of the 19th century, Mormon conceptions about LINEAGE evolved into a fuller racialist explanation of history generally and of the Saints' own destiny in particular.
"This RACIALIST [whatever that means] framework synthesized three elements:
"(1) an emerging and expanded understanding about premortal life;
"(2) British Israelism; and

Let's move, now, to the anti-Jewish element of this sticky-icky official Mormon Church doctrine by following the blood trail further.
From the article, "All Things Mormon--Jews and Judaism":
"Brigham Young and Wilford Woodruff consistently and repeatedly taught:
" . . . If a Jew truly could become a Christian HIS BLOOD WOULD CHANGE.
"The Jew that stays in Mormonism NEVER HAS ANY JEWISH BLOOD IN HIM. . . .
"It is as useless to preach to Jews as it is to Blacks.
"[Here are] Brigham Young’s teachings on Jews:
“We might say much on this point, showing you why things are as they are concerning the inhabitants of the earth receiving or rejecting the Gospel. Do you suppose they believe in Jesus Christ at Jerusalem? Can you make a Christian of a Jew? I tell you, nay. If a Jew comes into this Church, and honestly professes to be a Saint, a follower of Christ, and IF THE BLOOD OF JUDAH IS IN HIS VEINS< HE WILL APOSTATIZE.

"This is a secret that you will perhaps find out, in a coming day, to your satisfaction. The Lord knew how to preach to the Jews and told them what the truth was. You may as well undertake to command the most degraded of these Indian tribes, and give them arms and accouterments, and try to put them through the regular military exercise, as to preach to the Jews to make them believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Brigham Young, "Journal of Discourses" 2:142, 3 December 1854, emphasis added)
Brigham Young taught that actual, physical Jewish blood is forever tainted because it is housed in the bodies of Jews whose people crucified the Mormon Jesus and who, therefore, must have that blood physically eliminated from their bloodstreams before their LDS-style salvation can continue. At that point of purging, Young declared, they will no longer be Jews but become red-blooded Mormons and, therefore, will be demmed acceptab in the blue-and-delightsome eyes of the Mormon Jesus:
“Let me here say a word to the Jews. We do not want you to believe our doctrine. If any professing to be Jews should do so, it would prove that they are not Jews. A Jew cannot now believe in Jesus Christ.
"Brother Neibaur, WHO THINKS HE IS A JEW, IS A GOOD LATTER-DAY SAINT; HE HAS NOT ANY OF THE BLOOD OF JUDAH IN HIS VEINS.
"The decree has gone forth from the Almighty that they [Jews] cannot have the benefit of the atonement until they gather to Jerusalem, for they said, 'Let his blood be upon us and upon our children;' consequently, they cannot believe in him until his Second Coming. . . . When he [Jesus] comes again, he will not come as he did when the Jews rejected him; neither will he appear first at Jerusalem when he makes his Second Appearance on the earth; but he will appear first on the land where he commenced his work in the beginning, and planted the Garden of Eden, and that was done in the land of America.” (Brigham Young, "Journal of Discourses," 11:279, 23 December 1866, emphasis added)
Brigham Young taught that no Jew in the membership ranks of the Mormon Church could claim to be a "full-blooded" Jew and expect to be fully-blessed by God:
“There are some in this Church who claim to be Jews, BUT THERE IS NOT A FULL-BLOODED JEW IN THE CHURCH THAT WILL REMAIN IN IT, NEITHER WILL THERE BE. THEY CANNOT RECEIVE THEIR INHERITANCES until the whole family of Jacob have first received theirs.'” ("Brigham Young Addresses." 4:234, 7 October 1862, emphasis added)
According to Brigham Young (as reported in the Mormon Church-owned "Deseret News Weekly"), not only are Jews literally, physically and sinfully-blooded, they are relegated by the Mormon God to a degraded state similar to that of cursed non-Mormon Blacks whose skin was color-coded for punishment by the LDS system of divinely-blessed racism:
“[Brigham Young] [r]eferred to the history and practices of the Jews. In reference to their conversion, he said they never will believe until Jesus comes again, and preaching will have no more effect upon them than it will UPON THE COLOR OF THE DESCENDANTS OF CAIN." ("Brigham Young Addresses," 4:238, in "Deseret News Weekly," 14:221), 7 December 1862, emphasis added)
Indeed, Brigham Young taught that so-called "Negro Jews" (yes, you read that correctly) were literally and physically infected with Black blood which, therefore, effectively denies them the Mormon priesthood and its attendant White-wrapped blessings and stuck at the back of the line with Blacks:
"'THE BLOOD OF JUDAH has not only mingled almost with all nations, But ALSO WITH THE BLOOD OF CAIN, AND THEY HAVE MINGLED THEIR SEED TOGETHER; THESE NEGRO JEWS may keep up all the outward ordinances of the Jewish religion; they may have their sacrifices and they may perform all the religious ceremonies any people on earth could perform, but let me tell you that the day they consented TO MINGLE THEIR SEED WITH CANAAN, THE PRIESTHOOD WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM JUDAH, AND THAT PORTION OF JUDAH'S SEED WILL NEVER GET ANY RULE OR BLESSINGS OF THE PRIESTHOOD UNTIL CAIN GETS IT." (Brigham Young, speech to Joint Session of the Utah Terrotorial Legislature, quoted in "Teachings of President Brigham Young," Collier, pp. 45-46, 49-50, emphasis added)
To drive that point home, Brigham Young declared:
“It has been argued that MANY OF THE JEWS WERE BLACK. WHENEVER THE SEED OF JUDAH MINGLED WITH THE SEED OF CAIN, THEY LOST THEIR PRIESTHOOD AND ALL THE BLESSINGS." ("Brigham Young Addresses" 2:81, emphasis added)
Brigham Young taught that Jews from Asia, in particular, were cursed with "Negro" blood and, therefore, were not entitled to be leaders in the Mormon Church or, for that matter, in state government:
“Every man and woman and child in this territory are citizens; to say the contrary is all nonsense to me. The Indians are citizens, the Africans are citizens and THE JEWS THAT COME FROM ASIA, THAT ARE ALMOST ENTIRELY OF THE BLOOD OF CAIN, It is our duty to take care of them and administer to them in all the acts of humanity and kindness. They shall have the right of citizenship, BUT SHALL NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO DICtATE IN CHURCH AND STATE AFFAIRS." ("Brigham Young Addresses" 2:79-80, 5 January 1852, emphasis added)
According to Brigahm Young, being Jewish meant that your fate was sealed:
“[Brigham Young] [p]ointed out the way in which the Jews and other nations had sealed their DAMNATION.” ("Brigham Young Addresses" 4:10-11, March 1860, empbasis added)

On we go with the bigoted blood flow.
Taking his cue from the Joseph Smith and Brigham Young playbook, Mormon Church president Wilford Woodruff taught that being a Jew was a God-decreed curse that shows up as blood-borne disease:
“THE CURSE OF GOD HAD FOLLOWED THEM, THE JEWS, as it has done the Jews, though the Jews have not been darkened in their skin as have the Lamanites.
"The fate of the Jews in this respect is a standing monument to all infidelity. The prediction of Jesus with regard to them has been literally fulfilled. He predicted that they should be led away captive unto all nations, and that Jerusalem should be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. When Pilate was ready to release Jesus because he found no fault in him, the Pharisees and high priests, being filled with prejudice, would not have it. They cried out 'Crucify him, crucify him, and let his BLOOD be upon us and our children.'
"The prediction of Jesus has been verified, and its fulfillment is before the world today. The Jews have been trampled under the feet of the gentiles for 1,800 years. and they are to-day being persecuted in European nations.
"Why? Because that CURSE OF GOD RESTS UPON THEM and will rest upon them until Shiloh comes, until they are regathered to Jerusalem and re-build the city in un-belief. You cannot convert a Jew. They will never believe in Jesus Christ until he comes to them in Jerusalem, until these fleeing Jews take back their gold and silver to Jerusalem and re-build their city and temple, and they will do this as the Lord lives. . . . The Jews rejected the message: the Gentiles received it, and unto them was given all the gifts and blessings of the Gospel."
Woodruff invoked JOSEPH SMITH in defending this racist, anti-Semtiic, official Mormon Church doctrine:
"There has not been an organization of the Church of Christ on the earth from the days of the ancient Apostles, UNTIL THE DAYS OF JOSEPH SMITH, who came forth in this great and last dispensation, and who by inspiration and power from on high again restored the Gospel. The world do not believe this. We cannot help that. The unbelief of the world does not make the work of the Lord of non-effect.
"The Lord has set his hand to establish his Church and Kingdom, and the warning voice is to all men. He has called his servant [JOSEPH SMITH] to bear record of this to all nations. This is what the Lord is doing with these despised Mormons. And already the members of nearly every sect under heaven have embraced this work, though our numbers are small compared with the Christian world. We expect this.
"'As it was in the days of Noah and Lot so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man. These principles are true. The world does not know what awaits them no more than they did in the days of Noah, or in the days of the Jews.' (Wilford Woodruff, "Journal of Discourses" 22:173ff, 12 June 1881, emphasis added)

***SPEAKING OF EMPHASIS, LET’S NOT LEAVE OUT JOSEPH SMITH***
Before desperately-apologizing Mormons mount another lame defense by insisting that this is all just a bunch of misguided, racist, Jew-hating Mormon Church blather that the Mormon Church now disavows, the uncomfortable historical reality remains that the LDS Church cannot throw Brigham Young (and other MOrmon Church presidents) under the bus without throwing Joseph Smith there, too.
Why?
Because the notion of "bad blood" literally and physically being purged from the veins of "bad people" before they can be saved by the Mormon God is a badly-bigoted idea that courses straight back to Joseph Smith.
To repeat Smith's own words:
“The effect of the Holy Ghost upon a Gentile is to PURGE OUT THE OLD BLOOD and make him actually of the seed of Abraham. That man that has none of the blood of Abraham naturally must have a new creation by the Holy Ghost.” ("Words of Joseph Smith," 27 June 1839)
Moreover (yes, Mormons, there is more), to add insult to blood removal, Joseph Smith announced that Jews who converted to Mormonism (meaning the ones who were requried to have their "bad blood" literally drained from their bodies and replaced by "good blood") should make their way to the Mornon Zion in America and not to Jerusalem:
“He requested to know if converted Jews are to go to Jerusalem or to come to Zion. I therefore wish you to inform him that converted Jews must come here.” (Joseph Smith, 19 October 1840, "Teachings of Joseph Smith." p. 180; "History of the Church" 4:232)

The Mormon Church's anonymous writers need to spend the rest of their days cranking out the mountains of essays needed to admit, and to apologize for, the historially-disgraceful fact that official Mormon Church doctrine is deadly, decayed and decadent to its ugly little core. Once finished with that unholy homework assignment, the Mormon Church should fold its tent and return to each and every one of its deceived followers all that it stole from them under false pretenses, lo, these many years.
