Perris! And there was Hemet, too!

Work in the Hemet Egg Fair or festival or whatever that thing is. And the Temecula hot air balloon thing. And that place with the apples...Julian? And 29 Palms and stuff like that.

At the end, they track the killer to Cooladdi and there's a huge shoot-out and half the town has shrapnel wounds!!!

I keep skipping ahead to see of there's a side trip to a ritzy spa in Ojai, followed by a slow mo' car explosion with our protagonists diving for cover, just outside of Oxnard.

I'm afraid my suspension of disbelief was entirely broken when the characters said that Lottie Lenya was one of the five most intelligent people on the fictional board. She may be known as an actor in several roles here, and possibly as a singer (Brecht perhaps? I've never heard her), but as a genius, just no.

That was entirely implausible.
