This guy is Mormon, went to BYU, and in 1993 won $10 million from the American Family Sweepstakes. He appeared on TV with Dick Clark and Ed McMann.

He gave $1 million of his winnings to the LDS Church, apparently after being told they wanted tithing on his GROSS prize winnings.

Curious, does anyone know much about this guy?

he was told the Mormon church wanted one million and then just gave it to them. that's is his fault.

But I think it is wrong the church was aware of his winnings and told him to hand it over.

tithing should be more of a volunteer act, especially that type of money was not earned

I was raised in gilbert arizona and knew a couple of biggs. If he is in his mid-30's i think i know him.

I surmise that the diminishing omnipresent reek in Gilbert these days isn't due to the increasing dearth of dairy farms rather that the reek has moved to Washington DC

The cotton fields everywhere was pretty awesome. The dairy farms not so much.

winning the PCHS is essentially winning a lottery which is winning at gambling, HOW INTERESTING and HOW CONVENIENT for LDS inc that they can selectively ignore the source of the money to go on to collect "their share" via tithing.
