I do not put it in my salsa.
==========================================================

"...some people find cilantro revolting, including, famously, the chef Julia Child. Of course some of this dislike may come down to simple preference, but for those cilantro-haters for whom the plant tastes like soap, the issue is genetic. These people have a variation in a group of olfactory-receptor genes that allows them to strongly perceive the soapy-flavored aldehydes in cilantro leaves."

I'm one of the ones who absolutely can't stand cilantro. BLECH!

I see that it is related to celery, which I can't stomach, either.

I don’t like cilantro either; it’s too “earthy” or pungent tasting. A little of it goes a long way

Outside the US, we know it as coriander. That sounds a bit less Satanic...

I think the seeds are called coriander.

I thought so, too, but I agree with that "cilantro" sounds less Satanic.

Google it for me?

Isn't that interesting! I have heard for years how some people hated it and always wondered at that. I just love it but it grows fast and leggy and it isn't really fit for planters. I do pick it up in the store. I ordered a side of pico de gallo tonight mostly for the cilantro.

In the movie "A Christmas Story,"Ralphie describes the taste of various soaps his mom used to wash his mouth out. Cilantro is Palmolive. I used to hate eating at Chipotle because their food always tasted like soap. I honestly wondered if they didn't rinse their dishes. Once I learned about cilantro tasting like soap, I stopped getting the rice on my burritos and suddenly Chipotle was a lot better.

If cilantro is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

I love cilantro when properly used.
It is a critical ingredient in most of the Mexican food that I coook.
However "to each his own" I would never try to force anyone else to use it

Brigham City, UT we bought some fresh Cilantro and at the register had to show ID as if it were a controlled substance.
Asked about that and was told the Brigham City Police and Box Elder County Sheriff Dept both told the store it was a requirement. Don't know why they did it but after that bought in Ogden when we visited.

It’s part of their illegal alien dragnet. You need to show ID to buy menudo too.

I'm neutral on cilantro. If it's there, fine. If it's not, fine, except I hope it's not a sign the cook/chef doesn't know how to make proper Mexican food.
