I think possibly Jesus represents a turning point in recorded history where the ancient human's brain killed the old gods and birthed a new god in the human brain. A savior of the ancient concept of self. One where consciousness is still directed by a god but one born from within.

In modern times this god is dying like those olden gods but still animating many people's brains to believe they are part of a god.

So yes. Being excited and motivated by the idea that you are part god and human is very much alive an well.

If your question was whether someone like Jesus (god and human) can exist I don't believe so. By its very nature I don't believe a higher being than a human could be a human. Ontologically impossible I think.
