I found being obedient meant accepting having zero power yet taking 100% of the blame.
When Mormons try to pass off their self-responsibility by being obedient they will inevitably find themselves left holding the bag of consequences, but unfortunately they usually don't make the appropriate causal connection. They have been taught to blame themselves first, so they double down on "obedience " and the cycle continues.
It took me years to become skilled at "owning my stuff" because I'd been so indoctrinated by the controllers in my life.
Indeed, i felt my best when i stood up to the leaders while i was in the church. I am a naturally clasher or battler. I was not brain dead totally back then.
