Evil men who will fascinate and attract you in a very strange way. Of the two, Breaking Bad's "Walter White" is the more intriguing.

Edit: so many great classic movies to choose from, too. You might find you've got a bigger bucket list of great films than you realize. For example, did you ever watch Casablanca? Red River?
Dr. Zhivago? Lawrence of Arabia? the Marx Brothers? A good Gene Kelly musical like "Slaughter on 10th Avenue" or Astaire & Rogers in "Shall We Dance?"

Breaking bad, excellent on so many levels.

What happens when a normal, boring, frustrated man is put under great stress? Walter White's nom de guerre was Heisenberg, implying the uncertainty principle. Thus when the undefined character is subject to intense observation, his nature and fate are suddenly and permanently determined.

There are so many nuggets like that. It is a brilliant show.

Great series! I don't know if Dexter is on Netflix. I loved Dexter, Sopranos, Nurse Jackie. Glenn Close is in one that I really liked, but I can't think of the name and it isn't on Netflix. I believe it is on Hulu or Amazon.

I need a new series to binge watch. I gave up my cable On Demand. My daughter keeps telling me ones to watch, but I am not interested. Stranger Things is one she talks about. I can't think of the other ones at the moment. She just got Disney and doesn't watch Netflix right now.

Movies:

The Irishman - Joe Pesci is AMAZING. He's not playing some bloodthirsty crazy mobster this time. He's tender and sweet (for a bloodthirsty mobster). De Niro and Pacino are amazing as well. Scorsese directed it. I almost didn't watch it, because how many mobster flicks do you need to watch in a lifetime? This is excellent.

Another vote for Irishman. I'm biased, because I grew up near Russell Bufalino, and he was pretty well known in the area. Everyone knew he was a mobster, he was just hard to convict.

His reputation was kind of sweet (for a mobster) and his people specialized in truck hijackings. He lived near the intersection of I-80 and I-81, about a hundred miles from NYC, so lots of trucking there.

I like The Good Place. It's a bit silly, but Ted Danson is a delight to watch, and it raises real issues about what is and isn't ethical behavior.

Haha! I haven't started on movies!

If you like to slap-sticky juvenalia, try The IT Crowd.

But don't be thrown off by season 1, episode 1, where after a decent opening, it all goes to hell until the credits run...

After that, it is a glorious run of smutty hilarity. Except that sometimes they really hit an emotional homer. Weird, iznit, how silly people do that sometimes?

"Winter's Bone" is a fascinating look at poverty and crime in the Ozarks of Missouri. It's an excellent movie.

And you must see "Black Mirror," an exceptional anthology series of science fiction and fear.

Unbelievable is great. The Two Popes is good although probably not for the anti religion crowd.I liked Stranger Things too as well as many of the suggestions of others. I also liked The Crown.

Haunting of Hill House

I.forgot Hill House. It is great.

Damages, but it isn't on Netflix. I think it is on hulu. I saw it on Netflex about 5 or 6 years ago.

I have to say I'm not that impressed by Netflix, but here are some other suggestions:

* The People vs OJ Simpson
* The R Kelly Documentary
* The Thick of It. Much funnier than the IT Crowd.

Breaking Bad is uneven. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. The two lead actors do a good job.

Black Mirror - again uneven, but when it's good, it's very good.

Their home grown content includes Robert the Bruce, the Irishma (7/10 - watchable, but bloated and not a patch on Goodfellas and Casino) and Birdbox (again watchable but not flawless)

I've an idea Big Love is on there if you're into that.

Avoid their version of Anne of Green Gables, it is atrocious ans nothing to do with the book.

It doesn't follow the book, but it still good IMO if you can get past that.

The Tudors, The White Queen,the White Princess and The Borgias are entertaining if you can deal with the fact that they changed a lot of history.The Borgias particularly makes up a lot of stuff.
The Keepers is good but I didn't agree with some the accounts,particularly the woman with recovered memories. While I don't doubt the priest abused many girls and that there was a massive.cover up, her story didn't make sense and I am suspicious of recovered memories anyway. Why on earth would the priess call her in, confess to the murder of the nun and take her to see the body in its hiding place? I am not even convinced that the priest murdered the nun anyway. There appears to have been a serial killer there who committed a similar murder which had nothing to do with then school or the abuse.

The Last Kingdom series based on the books by Bernard Cornwell is worth a watch. Three series so far

One of Us <-- this is about what happens to a group of people when they leave Hasidic Judaism. The film is much more complex than my blurb - I think it's similar to how FLDS Lost Boys are not prepared to live outside of the only community they've known and shunning in general. How do you get the courage to leave? How do you learn to live in a modern world? Who are you when your family turns its back on you when you've been taught that family is everything?

Homecoming - if you like Beyoncé and are considering joining the Beyhive, this movie is a lot of fun. My father went to an HBCU, and I've always enjoyed step shows and - you just have to see it to see what I mean.

INVADER ZIM: ENTER THE FLORPUS <-- it's a weird cartoon. I like weird cartoons

Rounders - Hello, Atlantic City!

The Game - it's freakin' weird!

The End of the Tour - if you like David Foster Wallace and/or want to see um, it's not exactly morose but maybe a clear-eyed look at depression. Um...don't watch it when you're depressed, or watch it with a friend. (BTW, I hate David Lipsky and his crap book, but this movie is good)

The Lobster - I LOVE this movie! If "In Bruges" is still on Netflix, watch these back to back - Colin Farrell doesn't suck in these.

Locke - I'm in love with Tom Hardy
