Two temples lit up in one night view.
Businesses burst the corridor.
All seeing eye is a dollar.
The family goes on blissfully ignorant.
They have more to say about a government deficit.
They have nothing to say about a tithing horde.
Life goes on there manufacturing faith and putting away dollars.
One in ten for The Horde of Hosts.

AHHHH! To see your family? Or your wife's family? Bring your daughter to visit?

We were in SLC yesterday. What a zoo! I'm so glad I live in Cache Valley.

Both and to deliver my daughter back to school after her mission.

My family is a mess. My daughter didn't want to see them. She said they never cared about her. She did go with my to visit my polygamist sister for lunch.

All in all it wasn't as bad as I thought. I got to see some siblings I hadn't in a long time. Everyone was nice. We are better at talking behind backs than showing claws. I'm watching my family finally fall about with age.

My wife's family is who we stayed with. They were cordial as ever. My father in law only made it awkward once in asking about my hair length.

after just getting her home. Of course, the FIL had to ask about your hair (I don't know how long it is). Even my dad, who didn't like long hair on my brother when he was a teenager, didn't bug my son about his dyed hair.

IT sucks. But life goes on right? We raised very strong willed children. The thing is when will their strong wills turn against the church????

A gigantic tithing hoard is old hat for ultra conservatives. It may look like greed to us, since it was acquired by imposing austerity on wards and limiting charity work, but to them it’s just good business. Nothing to see here, move along.

That may be true but in this age of airplanes for Jesus and The Parable of The Talents looking more and more like prodigal sums, no charity and hording looks more and more like hiding their heartsell under a under bushel.

Mormonism: a tithing horde'n'fraud'n'hoard :-D

Belated Happy New Year to you, EB, and all at RfM

Sorry it's late, but I was in Lima, Peru, to see son and delightful DIL and the grandsons, 18 months and 3. Posting was.. a complex proposition.

Got back home 3 hours ago after a 12-hour flight, feeling extremely frazzled.

Much love to all for 2020. We're going to need it...

Tom in Paris

Mirroring your sentiment to you and others. Living human life is all about tides and waves and repeating patterns. Here's to hoping the wave we are all riding this next year has more peace and love in it than its portents.

Good? I think they might be better than more Northern places.
