"The Lost 116 Pages: Reconstructing the Book of Mormon's Missing Stories" by Don Bradley

Have you heard of this book? I haven't read it, but it seems pretty far out there. I couldn't find much negative comment on the the internet, but then again, who would read something like this?

Hey, whatever he’s written, who’s going to prove he got it wrong?

If I remember right the lost 116 pages were a rehash of 1st nephi again told in a expansive way. More of Lehi's version.

It's such garbage! And the faithfools drone on and on regarding how wonderful it all is!

"Until the lost 116 pages are found or the Lord reveals their contents, we will never be sure exactly what was on them. Yet a careful analysis of the available evidence offers intriguing, and in some cases, very likely possibilities about what they contained. This information, while not essential, can help us answer questions about Book of Mormon passages that may otherwise seem confusing or irrelevant.

"The story of the lost manuscript also demonstrates that God can compensate for the human weaknesses of his servants. Centuries before Martin Harris lost the 116 pages, God inspired the prophet Nephi to make a record which would ideally serve as a replacement introduction to the Book of Mormon. As the Lord explained to Joseph Smith, “The works, and the designs, and the purposes of God cannot be frustrated, neither can they come to naught. … Remember, remember that it is not the work of God that is frustrated, but the work of men” (D&C 3:1, 2)."

So....the writings of Lehi are “not essential.” Just like everything else in the Book of Mormon.

It's such a ludicrous folderol!!!

"The story of the lost manuscript also demonstrates that God can compensate for the human weaknesses of his servants."

Yeah, great anticipation and planning regarding the lost 116 pages...

But contrast that with the handling of the "Negro & the Priesthood" debacle! Smooth move, Exlax-mormonism!

Yeah, we’re supposed to believe that God knew that 116 pages would be lost more than 2000 years in advance, but he’s pretty clueless about just about everything since 1830.

And why didn't God use his wonderful foresight into preventing the Great Apostasy or the corruption of the Bible in the first place? Seems awfully convenient that the only time he was able to do that was with the lost 116 pages.

Wait !!!

... Didn’t Christopher Nemelka come up with those missing 116 pages?

Oh wait, no ... Nemelka found the “Sealed Portion.”

Oh, wait ... the “Sealed Portion” was revealed by whistleblower David Neilson.

I guess Elohim can't make up his mind;

If you're 'worthy' (whatever that means), he sometimes Rewards you, sometimes 'Tests' you with greater temptations/choices.

If you're not worthy, you're really on your own.

Just how would people know which was Genuine, which was Fake/Modern if the 'lost' had been recovered & someone else concocted a False version if both had been compared side-by-side?

That's a Giant I Don't Know!!

And how many documents were rejected for the New Testament? It's a wonder the Old Testament wasn't censored and redacted at the same time.
