A couple of years ago I enjoyed seeing a real rainbow in my own backyard, against the bottom of the wall of my neighbors stuccoed garage (maybe about 4ft. high, and as long as the wall itself) which faces my backyard.

I was somewhat frustrated because I couldn't verywell invite my neighbors to come over and see it--as it likely would be gone by then, among other reasons.

Dare I bet that I am one of a very few (if any) who have seen such a phnanamnan happen in their own yard?

There's a large hill across the street from my house that catches the evening sun and the whole hill lights up and shines. We often see beautiful rainbows, usually in pairs, in the sky over the hill. My wife has taken some good photos of them.

Now that I know they are evil, I'll have to quit looking at them I guess. Bummer.

You must have been watering with a sprinkler while the sun was relatively low in the sky and shining from behind you as you looked at the garage wall.

An "artificial" rainbow, but still beautiful and fascinating.

Remember that Joseph Smith taught that the Savior would not return in any year where there had been a rainbow.

(One of the few prophecies of his that actually has proven correct!)

“'I have asked of the Lord concerning His coming; and while asking the Lord, He gave a sign and said, "In the days of Noah I set a bow in the heavens as a sign and token that in any year that the bow should be seen the Lord would not come; but there should be seed time and harvest during that year: but whenever you see the bow withdrawn, it shall be a token that there shall be famine, pestilence, and great distress among the nations, and that the coming of the Messiah is not far distant."'”
