The following [Article] below is from "The Week" Magazine dated January 17, 2020...

[Tesla's stock surged to new highs this week, bringing it's total market value to $90-billion, the highest ever for a U.S. carmaker and greater than that of GM and Ford combined, said Michael Wayland in CNBC.com.

Shares rose after Tesla announced that its $2-billion Shanghai plant, brought up and running in just 10 months, is already producing 1,000 vehicles a week.

That comes on the heels of a fourth quarter "in which Tesla significantly topped estimates" for deliveries, hitting 367,500 for 2019 and meeting CEO Elon Musk's promise to sell at least 360,000 cars, a goal some analysts had called close to impossible.]

LDS-INC is sitting on an astonishing amount of money...closer to Tesla Corp's value and more than GM & Ford combined.

That's perspective for you...but the real Question is WHY???

On another note...anyone here drive a Tesla???

Or so it seems to me...

The car companies have to pay employees. Mormonism doesn't pay most employees. AND the employees pay them.

“but the real Question is WHY???”

Because they can? What interests me is that even with the fund at stratospheric levels they told cash strapped Nigerians that paying a full tithe was required for prosperity. The church doesn’t pay tithing, it collects it. That’s where the $124B came from so they’re kind of right. You pay, they prosper.

There is a lot of money to be made on day trading tsla but as for them being worth more than GM and Ford combined I'm having a hard time believing. The stock is highly speculative. They've had at least half their quarters report negative earnings. So of course the EPS growth would be astronomical since the equation has value less than zero. 133% growth for the most recent quarter.

I wish mormondom inc was as honest with their finances and Elon Musk is. The integrity of the 1st presidency is lacking.

Just put in some sales orders on a few laggards, and studying some growth funds. Bull markets sure are fun!
