"A northeast Pennsylvania woman drove into the path of an oncoming vehicle as a way to test her faith, then exhibited no concern about the people who were injured in the crash, state police said.

Bail was revoked this week for Nadejda Reilly, 31, of Drums, who is charged with aggravated assault and other offenses over allegations she purposely caused the wreck on Route 93 near Weatherly, Carbon County, on Jan. 7.

An investigator said Reilly told him she had been driving around for a few hours, waiting for a calling from God, when she decided to drive through the oncoming vehicle.

“Reilly related God took care of her by not having her injured,” wrote Trooper Bruce Balliet in an arrest affidavit. “Reilly expressed no concerns or remorse for the victims. Reilly also stated she did not care if the other people were injured because God would have taken care of them.”

I hope Jesus uses some of his $124B stash to buy those people a new car and pay their medical bills. Maybe after that UFO lands on my front lawn.

Why is it always Pennsylvania? I remember some guy in PA showing up in an emergency room after chopping off his foot and gouging his eye out with a spoon. Cuz Jesus.

How many of these crazies are we on the road with ? With Bethel Church so thick up her in Northern California, I imagine that we have more crazies on the road than average.

this will be quite a challenge for Joey, whether or not to admit her to the CK!

'faith without works is dead'; maybe her crash victims will die, I hope not.

So it wasn’t her fault. God told her to drive into oncoming traffic. It’s the same rationale the apostles use, so how could it be wrong?

Oh ye of little faith. Next time drive into a train.

I guess Jesus was just the copilot this time. It gets confusing.

Fanatical religious beliefs and mental illness creates a serious problem. Unfortunately, it is often others who end up suffering.

I was amazed a few months ago to see Russell Bufalino's name popping up. He was locally well known as a mobster in Pittston, PA. I lived within walking distance. OK, kind of a long walk, but doable.

Everyone knew he was a mobster, though it took years to ever convict him of a crime. He specialized in truck hijackings, which the movie Irishman hinted at (Frank Sheeran stole a few loads of beef in the movie).

Pittston was a good location for hijacking things, because it was close to the intersection of I-80 out of NYC, and I-81 running from central NY down into Virginia.

The nearest town to the intersection? Drums, PA. That's another name I never expected to hear about as an adult. My best friend growing up moved to Drums around 10th grade, and I spent some time visiting down there. It was a tiny town at the time, now about 10K people.

Small world.
