Four underage Amish men were arrested by authorities for drink driving in Michigan over the weekend after they were spotted throwing beer cans off the side of the horse and buggy they were riding.

The foursome – consisting of two 19-year-olds and two 20-year-olds – were first spotted in Beaverton Township, Gladwin County, at around 4pm on Sunday by a concerned motorist who believed they were heavily intoxicated.

According to the witness, each of them men were seen guzzling down beer and then discarding their empty cans onto the road.

Operating a (motor) vehicle varies greatly from state to state. For example, a lawn mower may not be a "vehicle" in a state, whereas a farm tractor is--depending upon its engine size.

In my state, the boys would not have been charged with drunk driving. Minors in possession of alcohol, littering, breach of the peace, sure--but not DUI. (Our legal term is "Operating Under the Influence," "OUI").

Our transit authority has an interesting policy. If a bus driver loses his license or CDL certification, they take him off buses and have him drive trolleys, which require a completely separate certification system. So he can be a full-fledged alkie, and still keep working. Pretty decent gig--except for public safety.

Having looked into it a bit, it strikes me as not so much a sovtard issue but a "sovereign citizen" type of mentality. You know, the people with websites that "instruct" you how to skip paying income taxes because they're "unconstitutional."
