You are the salted caramel of my apple. Sometimes it burns but it is oh so sweet.

The same way as Kaku, Sagan, Hawking, Einstein and Spinoza defined the word, in the impersonal sense, as in, the laws that govern nature.

Then why use a loaded word like "god?" Makes no sense. Call a spade a spade and a cat a cat dead or not.

Wow. An apposite metaphor given what I just wrote below!

Ask, Kaku, Sagan, Hawking, Einstein and Spinoza, who used that word to mean what they said it meant to them.
So do I.

"I use the word "God" in an impersonal sense, like Einstein did, for the laws of nature. As in, I want to know the mind of god. So to know the mind of god, is to know the laws of nature."

Hawking, "Brief Answers to the Big Questions, Ch. 1, Is There A God?"

"The idea that God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by God one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying… it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity." Carl Sagan

https://scientificliteracymatters.com/2015/04/carl-sagan-on-the-issue-of-god/

“I believe in Spinoza’s God, who reveals himself in the lawful harmony of the world, not in a God who concerns himself with the fate and the doings of mankind.” Einstein

The difference, kori, is that:

--Somebody asked them in some sense or another, and they answered in a manner that they thought would satisfy.

--Nobody asked you; and when you answered the unasked question anyway, we asked you to stop...repeatedly.

Your answer to the unasked question does not satisfy. As others have said, we don't need to a term coined by theists to describe scientific concepts that already clearly described in scientific terms.

Bullshit.
I didn't start this thread.

SC threads are mainly good for word play.

It would be so cool if he could create a "Kori's Soliloquy" in which he stands, center stage-front, yammering on about all the men of science who spelled ghawd, G-o-d.

Obviously it would be nonsensical in terms of any rational content and thus nothing more than pure vanity (without which theatre would not exist!), but he'd enjoy it, despite the fact that no matter how long the nattering, no conclusion would ever be reached. It would be about the presentation, not the content.

Anyway, that's how I see it...

Because you're an idiot?

*** Admin note: Please be nice and no name calling. I'm leaving this one up as a warning, and because EOD can handle himself, but the rule is to pull personal attacks. CZ ***

Well, I'm a happy idiot, with no real axes to grind, no emotional problems, no feelings that I'm being oppressed, which for a Lamanite has to be counted as a victory, que no?

But then I don't have the burdens you carry, what with you being an Asian an' everything like that there ...

You are an Anti-Beefguy-Neophyte Lamanite.

If a tree falls in the wood but no one is there to hear it, does it make any noise?

Yes, it sounds like a cat crying out in the wilderness, bewildered and afraid....with a chip on the shoulder.

I'd put that cat in a cradle with a silver spoon.

That cat is simply choking on the hairball of life. A silver spoon could be useful in that regard.

If a cat gets stuck in a tree in the woods and there's no firefighter around, does it raise the question on the definition god?

Knock it off, guys. You are wasting space that could be used to discuss Kori's shattering insights about the nature of God.

Have some respect, for heaven's sake!

A Jellicle one at that.

I vote for Schrödinger's cat to be the a Jellicle Cat of the Jellicle Ball to be chosen to go to Heaviside Layer where all the laws are in harmony.

Double derivatives are like double negatives. They make sense in an very funny way.
