It looks like gay people can be openly gay and even share affection in public as straight people do at BYU now. Although I am straight, I see this as a major positive shift that affects everyone. The Mormon church that I knew before I resigned would never have made this change, no matter what. Apparently, anything is possible now.
https://www.newsmax.com/t/newsmax/article/957374/16BYU removed the section in its honor code that banned homosexual behavior, bringing cheers to the school's LGBTQ community, but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued a letter to students, faculty, and staff this week.
Update: I just read the Questions and Answers. They said "any same sex romantic behavior is a violation of the honor code". To me that says 'we didn't really mean what we just said' (once again mormon church double speak).
