BYU along with most other educational institutions is closing down classes for a while and continuing them online - https://www.byu.edu/coronavirus

All the while, still hoping to lead students toward 'perfection' so its website says: https://www.byu.edu/about
- which claims its primary goal or mission is "perfection and eternal life..."

If perfection is the goal, then shouldn't it be focused on providing greater acceptance and diversity, rather than less and opening the door to a more liberal approach rather than the BofM with its racist dogma and continuing to use a backward polygamist leader's namesake? Wouldn't that be more like Jesus?

Maybe I should not be surprised they are still insisting on being dogmatic but wish they would rebrand and switch to a lower key approach to religion a la catholic universities, which for the most part (with a few exceptions) are not overly religious in their educational institutions.

wouldn’t it depend on what perfection is?

I’m guessing, from available evidence, that mormon perfection is White, Anglo-Saxon, right-handed and heterosexual.

Assume the position...

Exactly! My point is maybe they need to re-think their definition...

Doesn’t dying from COVID19 lead to eternal life?

Likewise, effective March 16, all missionaries entering Provo MTC will be trained by teleconference. This should be interesting because aside from the academic, pedagogical, and language training, the MTC is also a spiritual/psychological incubator where issues such as grooming, peer involvement, submission to authority, and cultural values are inculcated. It's not just learning--it's an immersive experience
