I’ve been worried about going into the community laundry. I live in an apartment, and the only way to do laundry is at the community “laundry room”.
I’ve been bagging up my “gently worn” clothes and placing them in a garbage bag.
So, do ya’all thinks it’s safe to use the community laundry room?
I’ve got about another 4 weeks worth of clean clothes. According to my information, the coronavirus stays on metal surfaces for a long time.
Topper, thanks for posting the “Islands in the stream” videos.

“Can’t stop the feeling” JT

Peace

I have bagged up my laundry and am running around naked. NO! My Macy’s and Target underwear supplies are sufficient.
Thank you.
I have been “hunkered down”, yet I have not seen a homeless person.
I did go out on Tuesday (to get TP, and did not see a homeless person, so WV has been helping humanity. Also, if Governor Justice has “any way shape form or fashion” I believe he really cares.

Also, “it breaks my heart” is prolly what many Governors say.

If anyone sees a homeless person, please direct them to an appropriate shelter. GIVE GIVE GIVE!

Can the wisdom of the Governor of Utah shut it down?

Obviously, “the dumb idiots of West Virginia were wise enough to shut it down.”

Shut down Utah!

WTF

Anyways, please take care of those in ICU when you get around to it, Prophets, Seers, and Revelators!

Peace

I would bring some windex or lysol or Clorox bleach wipes to the laundry room and wipe-down any surfaces that I need to touch or that my clothes are anticipated to touch after they have been cleaned and dried, before starting to wash the clothes. I wouldn't worry about the insides of the washers and dryers. The virus won't live long there during a wash or dry cycle, even if the infection is there when you start. You can wear latex gloves if you want to. If you can, go in the middle of the night to avoid other people. If anyone sick shows up you can just leave while they are there. The risk looks very low to me.

Windex, it reminds me of the " My big fat Greek wedding" movie.
He had a " cure" for everything- Windex.

Go do your laundry.
Wearing dirty clothes is more dangerous than going to the laundromat.

Leave the room while your clothes are washing and drying.

Go early in the morning to avoid other people.

Take you clothes back to your apartment to fold them.

There is a reason laundromats remain open and are considered essential services.

Wipe everything down if you think that is necessary.

Go as far between washings as you can.

But do your laundry.

I too use a laundromat. Not everyone has an in-home washer and dryer.

^^^This^^^

The biggest danger is being near other people in the room.

I would only add: wash your hands as soon as you get back to your apartment, then fold and put up your clothes, then wash hands again, and you should be good to go.

West Virginia is not a current hot spot. I would take sensible measures. Reduce your visits to the laundry room. Cover your nose and mouth with a bandana, scarf, or whatever you have. Wear rubber gloves. Wipe outside surfaces with a disinfectant. Fold your clothes at home.

Every place is a hotspot, they just don't know it yet. West Virginia is the last on the testing ability list. Read this. This woman told her story after Trump praised the W.Virginia governor, during a press conference, for "keeping his numbers low". Well, most States "doing a great job" are due to lack of test availability. This strong woman was an exception. Most just give up and go home.

There are laundry additives by Lysol (dark brown color in a small plastic bottle with a similarly horrible scent; they used to have a blue one that was better-smelling!) and regular bleach that will remove most germs from the machine left behind by previous users...

certainly an option I would be using.

Thanks Topp
er LLC

and EOD

I have decided to to “super hunker down” because I have all of my laundry in a garbage bag. That being said, I enjoy my brand new undergarments.

Should I place bottles of bleach on my neighbors doorstep, OR do nothing?

Thanks Macy’s and Target I have clean shorts.

Also, JT, Governor Justice, and Topper

Also, Johnny Cash and June

Peace

I would go do my laundry. Just be aware of your surroundings such as if you see a kid walk in that is coughing, then leave immediately. and remember to keep 6 feet away. If laundry doesn't get done you may run the risk of other germs, The flu likes to live in slept in sheets.

Also face masks are beneficial for public spaces (when others are around).

If you feel you might get infected by going to the laundry room, look around for alternatives.

You can wash you socks, underwear and such by tossing them on the floor in your shower. Do it as you take a shower, stomping them as you wash. Rinse, rig some rope to hang and drip dry in the shower, or out on the railing if you have a balcony.

Use your imagination on how to wash larger things like sheets, etc.

Some of the men in my life tell me that you can wash your clothes by tossing them on the floor and then picking them up a couple of days later.

They swear by it.

Add some chlorine to your laundry.

I use 1/2 cup chlorine, topped w 1/2 cup water to avoid stains, for cool washing.

Also, using hot water and the dryer will kill off any viruses. Wipe down any surfaces you touch in the laundry room ,and the door handles.

Wash hands after getting back.

I’ve gotten super cheap T-shirts and shorts and sweatpants and underwear delivered. I don’t feel safe going into the laundry room at my complex. My “Calvin Klein’s” are thrown in the garbage.

Also, ALL of my neighbors are really awesome about what is going on.

If rfm needs any kind of donation from me to keep this site up and running, PLMK! It’s been a godsend for me!

My Governor, (Buford T Justice) lol, Governor Jim Justice is a good mensch, even though I have only lived in WV for a few months.

Peace be with you!

GNPE, I must say that I truly like your questions, however, the only laundromat song video is that Justin Timberlake video of that video, something like the wershing machines.
Maybe it’s “I got a feeling”

Also you have to put the code CUMMX to post here, on these United States.
