They need to ditch the BoM because it is so racist it is impossible to salvage, and scientific evidence completely contradicts the historical narrative it spins. This leaves a huge hole in their identity. Fill it with Jesus H.
The only people who show any interest in Mormonism are those raised in other Christian denominations, primarily Catholicism. Buddhists, Moslems, Hindus or secular humanists are certainly not beating a path to their door. The new logo definitely has the same vibe as Catholic or Orthodox iconography. Protestant denominations tend to use highly abstract crosses or flames in their logos. Jesus is a marketing hook to appeal to lapsed Catholics in particular, and lapsed Christians in general.
I don't know about now, but when I went through the temple, it was Satin himself that coached the protestant preacher on what to tell people. Why is the Mormon church now trying to suck-up to all of these other churches now all of who are followers of Satin? Were they wrong then or are they wrong now? The mormon church uses Jesus like a commodity. Throw in a little Jesus in to the pot when needed to enhance their own legitimacy.
