Giving Russ & Wendy a tiny bit of credit...

Mormonism is about as 'exciting' as:


- watching paint dry

- watching grass grow


Perhaps Russ et ex were bored to the point of exhaustion & decided something needed to change about that...

Possible?

Maybe so, but perhaps more likely that they both recognize that old Russ' time is far spent and there is little remaining to make sure he has a 'legacy'.

Rusty is leaving a tremendous legacy!!!

He singlehandedly made 'mormon' a bad word in the minds of about 4.5 million people, although when you subtract out the under-18 PIMOs, it's probably around 3 million.

- Is It crucial - critical to MY individual salvation / exhalation?

Perhaps, but the changes Rusty made, though exciting to TBMs in the moment, are so inconsequential in the grand scheme of things, and certainly of no importance whatsoever to the *real* world. Of course, next to nothing any prophet of TSCC has ever done has impacted the 99.9% of the world that isn't LDS. Tiny credit is being generous.
