Does anyone know if the General Relief Society Presidency is paid like the other top tier leadership?

Or do they only choose women as leaders whose husbands are financially secure so the wives can work for free?

Just wondering how cheapazz the Church is regarding the women.

Thanks in advance!

As a heart attack.

The church covers expenses when they travel. That is all.

Screech! Pay themselves very well, but leave the ladies to fend for themselves!? And without squawking!?

Hasn't the church heard about women as being as deserving as men in all ways practical?

If you ask me, the women in Utah ought to start a protest line around the SLC temple, with signs and words, which state that women should be treated as equals with men. First, priesthood only privileges, now this!! Men who treat women unfairly are masochistic.

Signs such as: "Women deserve to be treated as well as men"; and "How would babies be born if women decided to hold a moratorium until they got equal treatment?"

Grrrr. Enough already of chauvinist treatment by men who effectively hold all the power held in the church.

Who was it that birthed the baby Jesus in the barn, a baby born without the help of a human male??

As you can tell, I am really tired of this "respect your elders" (husbands/men), while the women do all the hard work.

You can guarantee if Sheri Dew or some of the senior RS leaders went around the world, they wouldn't want for bed or board or local transport. Church leaders get paid in kind. They would have meals laid on in every ward, and someone to drive them round.

The relief society USED to have their own budget. They were funded to a large extent by magazine sales and investments.

Their 1961 budget showed $5.25 million in assets of which they spent just over $3 million including $350,000.00 returned to members in ward welfare funds. The report doesn't refer to stipends for the leadership but we can be sure travel expenses were covered.

What about the other auxiliary leaders? If R.S. presidency are not paid, obviously Primary and Young Women's leaders would not be compensated, either, except for travel expenses. What about the Young Men's Presidency or any presidency or leadership of Sunday School? Are any of these men paid?

She's not a general, so no General pay.

I'm not sure if this is a jjoke. None of the GAs are "generals." Still, the apostles, 70's, and some others receive pay.
