What is this "revelation received August 2, 1989, Provo, Utah, concerning Joseph the Seer in the flesh, was none other than the Testator, the Third Member of the Godhead, saith the Lord."

i.e. the Third Person of the Trinity.

Interesting find, TooHotForRobes. Quite a hodgepodge of post BY "revelation."

A fraudulent document produced by Mark Hoffman. The Tanners were more able to deduce the forgery than the Mormon church itself.

The interesting aspect of his claims, to me, is this: mainstream Mormons don't believe this guy. They probably also think he's suffering from some sort of mental illness or has gone off the deep end.

But here's the thing--he has exactly as much credibility as Joseph Smith, who they believe without reservation or question. His scripture is obviously riffing on Smith's, who in turn was obviously riffing on the KJV Bible. And his scripture features the same sort of "twist" or subversion as Smith's; the latter, polygamy, a physically-distinct Godhead, restoration of ancient scripture and an ancient church; the former, deification of Smith and elevation of himself to the fulfillment of prophecy. Objectively, there is absolutely no reason for a person to believe Joseph Smith while not believing Art Bulla.

So, rock on Art Bulla. You do you. I hope you make life uncomfortable for as many mainstream Mormons as you can.

Also, it's nice to see God still prefers to use old-timey pronouns and conjugations. I guess he's a creature of habit.

JS had a pretty high opinion of himself.

"No man knows my history."

"Would to God that I could tell you who I am but you would accuse me of blasphemy."

In my little corner of the world it was commonly taught that the holy ghost is an office held by many different spirits. Otherwise he'd never get a body and would be eternally damned.

Hence Joseph could have at one time held the office of the holy ghost.

I used to have a book by Cook and Ehat, and it featured revelations of J Smith, as cited by members who kept journals and commented on his sermons.

One of the sermons by Smith, indicated that he was the Holy Ghost who had come to gain a physical body, according to a couple of members who recorded the sermon.
