A healthy way to "stay in place" time on you hands due to the c. virus. Below is a healthy and great-tasting recipe for you to try:

. 2 large oranges, 1 /4 inch of top and bottom cut off

. 4 cups sugar, divided

. 3 cups water
---

Cut peel on each orange into 4 vertical segments. Remove each segment (including white pit) in 1 piece. Cut into 1/4-inch-wide strips. Cook in large pot of boiling water 15 minutes; drain, rinse, and drain again.

Bring 3 cups sugar and 3 cups water to boil in medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Add peel and return to boil. Reduce heat; simmer until peel is very soft, about 45 minutes. Drain.

Toss peel and 1 cup sugar on rimmed baking sheet, separating strips. Lift peel from sugar; transfer to sheet of foil. Let stand until coating is dry, 1 to 2 days. Do ahead if you desire, and wrap and freeze up to 2 months.
----

Lucky me: I have an orange tree in my back yard.

Bon Appetite :)

I know. When you need four cups of sugar just to make something orange palatable what else could it be?

He just needs some sugar to make his thick skin more palitable.

Meanwhile, oranges, the healthy kind, sound really great on this hot summer day.

Not to be a buzz-kill, but processing a couple or three ounces of orange peel in four cups of sugar - delicious, maybe, but healthy is not the first adjective I'd use.

For all the Mormon hyperventilating about porn addiction, sugar addiction gets a total pass. Ironic, that.

So true. Sugar addiction is the plague no one admits exists in modern life.

People are noticing, important people:

https://twitter.com/DylanRatigan/status/1285590446538985472?s=20

“Yes - much like the tobacco lawsuit. We need a massive class-action sugar lawsuit to recover costs to healthcare for sugar-related illnesses. Use Sugar $ to educate ppl on how sugar kills the same as tobacco. Need an ambitious litigator. Damages in the trillions.“

Erin Brockovitch, with whom Ratigan is responding to, knows a thing or two about class action lawsuits.

There are billions and billions of dollars counting on all the crap in the grocery middle isles, but the health calamity resulting from That crap is becoming impossible to ignore, as impossible as ignoring cigarettes became.

Besides, keto/low-carb is not only gaining popularity with people but also with health care workers and scientists. It’s a matter of time.

Here here, Bro of Jerry - I remember shortly before I left the church giving a talk on the WoW. Before my talk I was looking out over a congregation of whom at least 60% were obese and I remember thinking I was talking about the wrong vices.

Uch!! Sounds bad for one's teeth, bad for one's waist and terrible for ones insulin level.

I like to take orange peels, let them dry until they are brittle and then break them into pieces and eat them. Low calories and good roughage.

You've done this thing?

Reminded me of the time my skin turned orange, from drinking too much carrot juice. The palms of my hands glowed orange, and it scared me, until I remembered my friend's mother was Trump orange, from drinking too much carrot juice. She claimed the juice kept her healthy and sickness-free.

I grew up in a "health nut" family (said with great affection, especially towards my paternal grandmother), and I was always taught that--in moderation--carrot juice is an excellent source of Vitamin A and potassium.

I was specifically warned that if I drank "too much" (more than about a cup a day) of carrot juice, my skin would eventually become orange colored.

Growing up, I was urged to keep my intake to a half-pint (it came, fresh-pressed, in pint-sized bottles) or less per day--with a couple of days a week as "vacation" days when I didn't drink any carrot juice at all.

I followed the directions, and I never had any problems.
