Do you propose that The Book of Mormon is a true history? Yes Then all of its' concepts would stand up to scrutiny? Yes. Do you have a copy of the book with you? Yes Open it to the book of Ether chapter 6 verses 5 through 11 Have you ever experienced a furious wind on the pacific ocean? Whatever the answer is this is my response. Let us, just for illustration, let us presume that the wind was only 10 mph. So 10mp. X 1day( 24hrs) = 240 miles Then 240 miles per day x344 days = 82,560 miles or 3.35 time around the earth at the equator. Are you saying that the Jaredites went around the earth more than 3 times to reach their destination? I would be interested in their answers

Wind at 10 mph > doesn't mean the current is 10 mph. Good point but doesn't the scripture specify wind?
5: And it came to pass that the Lord God caused that there should be a afurious wind blow upon the face of the waters, towards the promised land; and thus they were tossed upon the waves of the sea before the wind.

Yes, the scripture is full of wind (pun intended)....appears to be another one Joseph and Co. misunderstood. Basically they are just bobbing around in the wind and current. If it was wind they wanted to push them, god should have told them to make a sailing ship...but then god always has to do things several times before he gets it right....and even then, he doesn't get it right.
My point in bringing up this issue is this: These youngsters that they send out to preach are,for the most part, uneducated in that which they attempt to do. I am aquainted with several evangelical proselyters of different "born again Christian" religions and they will tear an uneducated Mormon missionary a new @#$%^%$% theoligically. It is sad that these younsters are fed to the wolves in such a manner.
There was a thread here just a bit ago about the rate of men vs women leaving the church and that a lot of the young men leave right after getting home from their missions.
Some of my favorite videos to watch on occasion are evangelicals giving seminars on how to engage with Mormon missionaries to save them from the cult. They research the doctrine, they know what the inconsistencies are.
I planted some melon seeds this year and they produced 3 small football shaped melons, a little bigger than a lemon. We'll be eating the last one tonight. They're sweet like cantaloupe. They're not inflamed. The police would have no quarrel with me, as my melons we're not inflamed.
A sharp missionary would explain that "furious wind" doesn't necessarily mean a "hard-blowing wind"; it could mean an "angry wind", perhaps furious because the Brother of Jared would *never* put the toilet seat down, or not lift a finger to help around the house on Saturdays during college football season because he and Jared and their buddies would always be watching the big flat screen.
