I work for a medical device company. Many of you have had our products used on you in a hospital or doctors office I'm sure...I have. I'm a process engineer and a quality engineer, but my desire has been to get into quality systems for the last years of my career. I do quality system work now, and new product introduction, but after decades of NPI, I'm a little burned out on it.

We're combining two manufacturing sites locally and they opened a position for a quality systems engineer to work on combining the systems for the two sites. I was recommended, so I interviewed and was just informed that I got it. Have to transition my work to someone else and once that's done it will be full time for a year or more. When the project is done, I go back to being a quality engineer like I am now.

Anyway, I'm happy and wanted to share.

And I made about a gallon of awesome corn relish a few days ago so I'm happy about that too!

You recognize, of course, that you have duties you must continue to perform here on RfM?

If we're clear on that, then congratulations. It couldn't have happened to a better, nicer spectrum of visible light.

Rest assured, I won't shirk my responsibilities here.....got to keep the loonies on the path and all that you know.

But if I'm on this board during work, like I am now, am I shirking work? Now I'm getting dizzy.

That area is related to areas where I've worked in big pharma except in biologicals instead of devices. It sounds like a great job for you!

I switched fields in teaching a year ago, and couldn't be happier with my decision. I'm towards the end of my career as well. Change can be a good thing.

It is pretty cool to be on the cutting edge of GMP. It’s a difficult field with massive value payoffs.
