No no no, they got it all wrong. Lake Tahoe was dug by the Grays, using the stone to build pyramids. Some Grays mated with Hebrew women they teletransported from Kolob, creating Sasquatches. The Grays were embarrassed so they rounded up as many Sasquatches as they could, dumped them in the quarry, filled it with water, then left the planet.
