I'm quite confident that she could debate you into a bloody pulp despite her adolescence, her Asperger Syndrome, and the fact that she's speaking in a second language.

I'll never understand what old men like you find so intimidating in her.

She is young, female, and has influence in a world still somewhat dominated by male hierarchies. Make America great again is a lament.

I asked my son, who is 44, this same question, and he gave pretty much the same answer. While he admires Greta, he knows that many men in his father's generation do not.

The fact that Greta is amazingly knowledgeable about the science behind climate change, not to mention her incredible fluency with English, doesn't seem to faze these guys.

They disparage her because she is young, she is foreign, and she is female. And some are unkind enough to dismiss her because of Asperger's.

I think she is remarkable. She is directly responsible for at least one behavior change I have made in my own life. I no longer accept straws from take-out restaurants. I have a heavy-duty plastic straw that I keep in my purse (in a fabric envelope I made for it) that I re-use whenever we eat out.

It ain't much - but it's a start. Thanks, brave young Greta!

Watched her at the Protest in North Dakota. What a farce. Supporting a bunch too lazy to make any one of 19 meetings about the pipeline. A bunch that had to be forcibly removed from their camping area by authorities - to save their lives in the face of ice floes being pushed downriver - floes that wiped away much of the camp right after the idiots were taken out.

She has the right idea in many ways but lacks maturity and knowledge of reality.
