Moralizing MORmONs crack me up!

"Romney decries state of America's 'vile, vituperative, hate-filled' politics,"

puts blame largely on his Dear Leader, who he is faithful to 90% of the time, especially when it counts!!

Way to bring back the 1950's lingo Boomer!
vituperative?
I had to look that one up.

vi·tu·per·a·tive: bitter and abusive.

Says the guy who swore a suicidal oath to build up the abusive doomsday sex CULT of Joseph's Myth.

Maybe he hired an English major for his speechwriting.

I have to hand it to him for pandering to his base. They will eat that self righteousness up.

Its both sides. I mean Kanye does have a point. As crazy as he is, it is pretty racist to assume he's gotta be a Democrat because he is black.
I mean the guy is worth hundreds of millions. Does it surprise anybody that he's greedy AF?

Statues of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt were torn down in Portland last Monday. The Portland Historical Museum was also broken into: windows smashed, exhibits vandalized, ad flares set off. A commemorative quilt crafted by black women which had once toured the country was taken and later recovered in damaged condition in the rain.

I live near Portland and I've been to the protests there. Violent protests and clashes between fascists and antifascists have been going on a long time. I think a lot of the violence and vandalism is caused by anarchists, who are neither Republicans or Democrats, they just want to burn it all down and hope that something more pure will rise up out of the ashes. But what we've seen over and over again, when you burn it down, businesses leave and the locals are left with very few options to choose from, in the burnt out wreckage left in the wake.

I give fascists and antifascists and wide berth.
You engage with them you're likely to get stabbed or shot in Portland.
In the town I live in, which is like a smaller version of Portland, I saw a black guy get stabbed for kissing his white girlfriend, by a fascist with a swastika on his neck. This was the night after violent protests that had large contingents of anarchists throwing bricks through the windows of any business downtown that didn't have a BLM poster in the window.

Coming from Romney ... what a joke! I guess he forgot his vicious slam against Trump at a press conference he called before the 2016 election. Romney had quietly submitted papers to run for President again. What a hypocrite!

As far as Kanye is concerned, he never intended to run for President. He had no organization set up. He only wanted to collect campaign donations. He’s a bi-polar megalomaniac.

Whatever people think of Romney an d whatever his motives, I think he is right. Nastiness has always been an element of politics but infantile insults now pervade the process in ways never seen before 2016. Attacking the messenger obscures the truth in his message just as it does with issues like BLM

As I wrote above, sometimes it's hard to think in three dimensions. Mitt Romney is someone whom we all despise in many ways, but he is not a two-dimensional cutout; there are times when he makes good observations and others when he evinces some courage.

Politics, and reality, are not binary.

When 90% of his party supports him, despite the fact he has been impeached and made sure America's pandemic death rate is 5 times higher than average and hidden his tax returns for 5 years,.....and the list goes on, that's a GD CULT!
It has all the ingredients of a CULT,
1. Charismatic leader
2. Irrational followers who are unusually loyal to said Dear Leader
3. Sexual abuse (aka, rape)
4. Fraud
5. Tax Evasion

He was right about one thing, "I could go out on 5th Ave. and shoot somebody and not lose a supporter. Its amazing."

He only understated it by about 200k innocent victims.

I dont blame him for all 200k deaths, but if we have 25% of the casualties and 5% of the population, that means we are 5 x's more likely to die of Covid as Americans than if we lived outside of America.

There is only one scenario I can see that doesn't involve Civil War.
I'm hoping for that scenario.
Because from what Ive seen so far he and his billionaire boys club have everything planned out in 4D Chess moves and Putin is 3 steps ahead of the village idiot we elected to carry the nuclear football over the finish line and spike it.

What a load of crap Schrodinger. Some people just watch CNN and then come here and repeat what someone on CNN said. No value added!!!!... and off topic.

Are 90% of roughly half of the people in this country part of a cult? Really??? Something else is going on here for those who have critical thinking skills and who pay attention. Even Mormonism has less than two percent of the population... And they are an unusually successful cult.

What little respect I had for Romney was lost during the impeachment/trial vote. And it wasn't how he voted that lost my respect. I can respect people who I disagree with. But Romney tried to be a maverick and then he blamed his conscience like his conscience is a foreign entity that he has never learned to recon with, to justify his vote. He should have taken complete ownership of his choice and justified it with reasonable words (even if only reasonable in his own mind) and without apologies if he had real reasons that drove his choice. Not only is Romney not the guy on the white horse, he isn't even worthy of being taken seriously. The religion has messed up his mind too.

90% of half is about 45% of the American electorate, so Scat is definitely exaggerating. The actual figure is only about 38%.

-----------------------

I'm not sure how you would know. You are, after all, the person who in mid-2017 prophesied that Trump would be overwhelmingly popular by 2018 and that the GOP would sweep the midterms in both houses. That messianic confidence was manifestly not informed by critical thinking.

----------------
> Even
> Mormonism has less than two percent of the

Not at all. Mussolini had the vast majority of Italians in the late 1920s; and Hitler had over 95% of the German people between 1933 and 1939. When Stalin died the Russian people took to the streets in their sorrow and the rate of suicides went way up. THOSE, not the squalid little Mormon church, are examples of successful cults.

What a remarkably turbid paragraph. You should retain an editor, preferably one who is good at critical thinking.

Just because mittens is less rude, crude and socially unacceptable than Trump doesn’t make him “good.” He’s still the same POS who didn’t intend to represent 47% of the populace.

If Trump had given him a job in the administration then you can bet he wouldn’t be flipping out against him.

If there wasn’t a groundswell of anger towards Trump to exploit, then he wouldn’t be flopping against him.

Mittens is the same, opportunistic, whichever-way-the-wind-is-blowing, self-serving, self-important, pompous flip-flopping blowhard that he’s always been, and his “can’t we all be nice” schtick is so MORmONy that it makes me want to vomit. It also rings hollow because his endless criticism of Trump is so obviously bottled up anger at the guy who bested him and then embarrassed him.

“Can’t we all be civil when we take our cheap shots at each other?” Mittens is so transparent that it’s laughable. It’s hard to decide if he’s disgusting, or just pathetic.

The battle for the post-Trump GOP is underway.

Romney has in the past put distance between himself and Trump, and now he is taking a different tack by effectively reaching out to Trump's supporters. It's subtle, but whoever wants to lead the party has to have support on both sides of the rift. He needs to start the healing process.

Meanwhile Sasse, who has been loyal to Trump, gave a speech to a huge audience in full awareness that someone would record it. In that speech he lambasted Trump since he doesn't want to go down with the ship. He's a step behind Romney, needing to establish an independent position before he can move back to the middle of the party.

There will be other interesting developments over the coming weeks as leading Republicans try to reposition themselves in anticipation of Trump's (likely) defeat.
